Although I haven’t been working in the field for the last 12 years, I actually graduated from TU Delft as an Industrial Design Engineer. Mainly the 3D CG work always interested me, but I never took the time to do something with it and the software needed always has been very expensive. And there was Blender: the free alternative to Maya or Cinema4D and others. But it is complex. Very, very complex. I tried Blender before, but I was so overwhelmed with it’s features that I put it aside right away. Until I stumbled upon the excellent tutorial video’s of Blenderguru on Youtube. These video’s are made by an Australian guy called Andrew Price, and are really worth it to follow.
I’ve finished the first tutorial (Donuts) and am currently working on the second tutorial (Anvil), and I feel confident I can create and render basic objects in Blender.
Anyways, if you want to learn Blender, go to Blenderguru.com
